open source sewing

i just signed up on burdastyle, a new online company who shares sewing patterns freely and openly, teaching and spreading the word about d.i.y. style. they offer expertise, ideas and free patterns you can download and sew at home. i have a bunch of gingham sitting here doing nothing and i'm hoping to get inspired. (via the storque).

When I was younger and I sewed a lot of clothes Burda were the patterns that were a lot less expensive, and just a stylish, as the other major brands of patterns. They also were the brand that gave you 5 sizes in one, I think. I was very loyal to their brand back then because they fit my starving-artist's budget. I am really glad to see that they still support the crafts so generously. That's good thing Martha!
