decorating with dishes

it seems this past year i have been seeing more and more decorating ideas around dishes. and it just became more apparent while reading the january issue of country living magazine.

while i don't subscribe to the complete country idea, i was drawn to the flea market mixing ideas on the front cover along with the beautiful spongeware and transferware photo gracing the page. and as i leafed through more, the dishes photos kept popping out at me. above photo: team time clock, u+ design collection from umbra; (image from countryliving mag) right photo: curioussofa.com - piles of ironstone line their barnwood wall. by layering smaller pieces over larger platters with jute string they have created an interesting way to show off other items like cups and creamers as well.
