Pin It Forward: What Home Means To Me

Today is my turn to chime in on the "Pin It Forward" campaign Victoria of SfgirlbyBay is hosting this month along with Pinterest. The topic, "What Home Means to Me" is a timely one as we work on our very slow renovation. What I've come to realize is that the "slow" (imposed by money and time) is actually a good thing as my tastes have changed significantly as we go. But what has remained strong is what I would like our home to be and what home means to me. Home means comfortable, welcoming, fun and a place to feel safe and loved, a place to relax. Here are a few pictures I've pinned on my pinterest board of what that might look like. From the lure of a week away at a cottage to the luxury of a cosy comfy bed at home on a rainy cool night. I want our home to be sprinkled with all these things but most especially to be welcoming to all who visit. Tomorrow Carrie of agirlandacamera.blogspot.com will be taking her turn if you wish to follow along.

What a beautiful, inspiring collection Jan! I especially love the paddles, farmhouse bench (have one of those in my bathroom) and the botanical print.

Beautiful....no doubt it will be so very welcoming & I love your picks. I have found slow & steady works well for me too. My individuality comes out to play & forces me to be patient(not one of my strong suits) Thanks you for sharing this with us....so lovely.

So lovely, evocative, and perfectly summery. Seeing those oars on the side of the cabin makes me want to find a canoe and head for the mountains.

I've always loved nautical themes and am happy they're now coming into their own trend. :-)

Beautiful collection! This whole thing is such fun, don't you think? Pinning it forward and getting peeks into people's hearts when they share what home means to them. Thanks for pinning it forward to me!
