Clare Elsaesser

From Bodega Bay (California) artist, Clare Elsaesser creates prints from original paintings by printing on matte paper, which is then sewn with thread onto a piece of textured watercolor paper, giving the print a very substantial feel.

the quality of her work is beautiful, i love the use of strong lines and strong colours. It actually makes me feel quite sad though ... there's a bitter sweetness to the person being portrayed ... to me anyway ...

I love this work - I would hang the series of bed-sheet images in my bedroom - especially the one where she's getting undressed (or dressed?). I find them peaceful. I like that I can't see her face.

Thanks for sharing!

I love her work. I have two of her prints in my bedroom above my bed. I love how they feel like intimate, stolen moments. Really beautiful.
