DIY Sliding Barn Door

Last week we showed you her DIY Wooden "Love" Headboard, and this week we're equally loving their DIY Sliding Barn Door that accompanies the headboard in the bedroom. Dana at House*Tweaking and her handy hubby created the door from more salvaged fence boards from his late grandmother's farm with a little bit of help with some hardware from Crown Industrial (out of San Francisco) and some great yellow paint from Sherwin Williams (Auric).

Click here for the DIY and here on how to hang it.

I already loved the headboard but with the door to complement the room it just makes the room absolutely fantactic! I love the yellow, a bit of sunshine to start the day!

I did a sliding barn door for my tiny powder room - so much more space without a door swinging into it!
Got the hardware for $20 from Johnson's hardware and used an existing door - the handle is the tricky part when it is not a pocket door.

Rebecca - Where is Johnson's Hardware?

Was impressed by the headboard but SUPER so by the sliding door. I really adore the color and texture it adds, but my concern here is that...what if you already have a working door, one that ensure privacy? I'd hate to sacrifice a functioning door to a bedroom or bath just to change it up? What if you painted a bedroom door, or would that just be silly?

Have always loved a good barn door, but add that gorgeous color, DIY and using wood with some family history to it and that's just off the charts. Love this.

My husband is in for it and doesn't even know it yet! I LOVE sliding barn doors and now I have no excuse for not hanging one in my house right now (okay a few weeks from now maybe). LOVE the yellow too by the way. :)

A Yellow Door! & It's a Barn Door! So rustic & chic I think I'll need to do this someday... saving this post for the future :)

That looks great and I love the yellow! My husband isn't that handy, and I'm not very good at hanging doors either, but I could use a door like this to cover our washer/dryer.
