Penguin Classics has commissioned illustrator and cartoonist Jillian Tamaki in what she calls a dream project. Creating Penguin Classics covers with her stunning embroidered illustrations. The covers wrap around, and include french flaps. The books will be released this fall. Visit her blog post here to see larger and more images of this upcoming collection. Oh, the Secret garden, one of my favorites. I have wandered around in that hidden place so many time. And this cover tickles the imagination even more.
was this the same publishers which ran a similar theme last year, but instead of embroidered illustrations, tattoo art? these covers are so feminine and so very pretty!

That's really cool! I enjoy doing crewel embroidery, and think it's often a forgotten art. She did a good job!
