Gone Swimming

I was reading the other day that water is a great stress reliever.  Just like sleep.  I have a friend who used to always get so stressed while studying at University, and her mother used to tell her to always go have a nap if she was stressed, "it cures everything", she said.  And that advice is actually quite true, have you ever tried it?  So when I read about water having the same effect, it made me realize something I hadn't before.  I absolutely love swimming, I just hadn't noticed it in the same light before.  Anyway, what has this to do with design you ask?  Nothing.  I just happened across some nice water-themed images (and the same advice and quote) today that reminded me of that article and thought it was good stuff to know.  Here is the post about stress if you're interested. Oh, I love swimming so much.

When the weather gets hot enough, we head to the Clackamas River. It's so lovely and relaxing....

I swim daily and teach aqua fitness classes several times a week. I can't imagine my life without the pool!
Enjoy!

there is something so relaxing about being in or near the water and it seems to always lead to a nap. so double the stress reliever.

I love water! Love swiming and I love to walk along the ocean and listen to the water, and waves, I find it very soothing.

There is a site called the watercures. I have not read it in awhile but it is all about the healing power of water. And if I remember correctly it is written by a survivor of the Holocaust.

it's true what they say about water relieving stress. Many of my most relaxing moments have been spent sitting on the wet sand at the beach with my feet in the sea water. There's nothing like it :)

There's nothing like a hot bath with some oils and salts to wash away my stress at the end of the day. Or a walk in the ocean. Lovely post!

I loved the way you can relate the movement of the brush to the movement of the water!

i love water! i get really horrible migraines and i find that the only comfort when i'm in severe pain is a hot bath or a shoer. it relieves my muscles and the sound of water eases me when nothing else can. it's a miracle cure for me, and it's free!

ps i also love tastes orangey! big fan of her art.
