Dispatches from Sweden: A Walk in the Woods

Contributor post by Camilla Engman

We try to take a longer walk in the woods every weekend if the weather is ok. Both for our own sake but also because Morran gets so happy to walk on new paths. This time we headed to Jonsered, close to Gothenburg. The weather was super, a crip autumn day full of colours and fragrance. By chance we stumble upon a cottage in the middle of the woods, where an old lady served coffee and waffles! We ate it outside and Morran searched through the fireplace for lost hotdogs, and of course she found one (half-charred), so everyone was happy :)

About the author:
Camilla Engman is a collaboration between Camilla Engman and Morran the dog. Morran is the face and Camilla does most of the work. Camilla calls herself a picture maker and Morran calls herself nothing but thinks of herself as a goodess, a queen. This is a very fruitful collaboration and will probably grow to a whole consern one day. These two will contribute with pictures from their days in and around Gothenburg + Camilla's travels for exhibiting her work.

That last shot of the woods is just wonderful - pure escapism.

So perfect. I loved visiting Sweden on our travels and walking in those exact same kinds of woods. So foreign to me!! x

This is heavenly!
I'd love to know more about the naturally dyed yarn. Was it in the older woman's cottage?

This is what I like about the Swedish (and Norwegian) woods - out of nowhere you can get coffee and waffles!

Thanks! The cottage isn't her own. It is own by the town and rented of a nature group... sort of (I can't explain it better). In the cottage there is free maps for the area and you can learn about different leaves and so on. So the yarn is part of that.
