Weekend Project: Wall-Mounted Modular Storage Unit

I came across this modular storage unit in the November issue of Livingetc by designer Peter J. Lassen.  I know I've posted about these types of storage units before, but what's cool about this one and why I think it might be a fun DIY is because of it being wall-mounted vs just sitting on the floor.  Makes for all kind of ideas in which to display.  And super easy to create (use IKEA's PRÄNT office storage boxes for instance).  Fun fact:  Did you know this modular system is a classic?  Yup, designed back in the 80's!  Who knew it would still be valid in today's aesthetic. Happy making!

Thank you so much for posting this. I love it. I have been looking for a diy budget version for a while. I can't wait to try it.

That looks great.. the modular boxes give your so much flexibility with arrangement.. but this looks especially interesting.. the the varying hues of green looks great.

This seems like a load of fun but I'm not sure if I'm talented enough to pull it off. Thanks for sharing!

I love this idea - it looks fabulous (and no I had no idea this concept dated back to the 80's... still looks pretty modern!)

It's a great idea. I only wish I looked for these bins the last time I was at IKEA (last weekend).
