DIY: Paint Dipped Chopsticks

Contributor post by Penelope and Pip

Today's paint dipped chopstick project takes no time at all, but certainly adds a lot more fun to the dinner table. They would look really lovely at your next dinner party!

Let's get started with materials.

Materials:
  1. Wooden chopsticks
  2. Non-toxic paint
  3. Paint tray
  4. Soft bristle paint brush
  5. Water in a container for cleaning brush
  6. Masking tape
Now for the fun part! How to make our chopsticks pretty.

Step 1: Mask off the amount you want to paint. Keep in mind you want to stay away from the food end even though you are using non-toxic paint.

Step 2: Paint the end of the chopstick. You may need to give it several coats depending on the paint you use (I painted mine three times).

Step 3: This is the final step. Just wait for your paint to dry and peel off the masking tape to reveal a nice sharp end to the painted part. If you have a non toxic food safe sealer you could also seal them before you remove the masking tape (this way you can use them over and over again!).

Now, all you have to do is get first dibs on your favourite colour for your place at the table and enjoy some pops of colour with your sushi.

Easy!

Great idea so folks don't get their chopsticks mixed up at a dinner party. You could colour coordinate with their wine glass charms if you wanted to get really clever!
