Pip Lincolne has a fun and crazy (and I bet soft) pom pom rug project in the latest issue of Frankie Magazine - that I'm loving! She says it's "easier than skinning a fraggle" (not sure what that is - but we believe her) and is made with obviously a heap of pom poms attached to a piece of hessian (which I think in North American terms is either burlap or sisal). Whatever the case it's a fun piece and one I wouldn't mind wiggling my toes into first thing in the morning. I grabbed my digital issue of Frankie Magazine from Zinio. Click here to pick up a copy. So. Much. Want.
Will have to express ship the latest copy of Frankie to get the particulars stat. Just looking at it makes one smile!
Also, these are the only Fraggles I know of (rather sinister, eh? *laughs*):

wauw what a crazy idea! gotta try to make one myself, gonna cost me a lot of string!
Fraggles are muppets from Fraggle Rock - it was a TV show ("let the music play, worries for another day, chase your cares away, down at Fraggle Rock" ... it was on TV when I was younger, I think we have a series on DVD now for my kids).
And hessian is a really heavy brown, scratchy, hairy, canvassy fabric - it's made into sacks to carry really heavy things ... like lots of potatoes maybe. I think it's like burlap, like you said.
I'm in Australia and picked up my copy of Frankie yesterday - Pip's crazy rug is a must-make, it looks so fun and awesome! Cat
That is SO fun - I love it!
I am loving this rug Jan, what wonderful pops of colour, and it looks like it would feel amazing on your feet! Have a great weekend! ~ Heather
ps, like the new look too :)
yes, hessian is burlap.

I love this rug!!! And I'm surprised your not familiar with Fraggles since Fraggle Rock was a partly Canadian tv show :)

pip - wow you!!!!
Great Rug! Is Frankie a publication? How do you get one in USA?
Hi Judy,
It is - it's from Australia, but you can buy a digital copy - like I did through Zinio. Just go to Zinio.com and then search for Frankie Magazine. You might be able to also find a printed copy at magazine stores.
I know this is a rug, but I kind of want to put it on my wall.
This is so AWESOME.
I think i will try it with black white and grey wool!
