Austin - FAIR MORNING BLUE

Tracy Locke Castro is a designer, blogger, wife and mom who has spent the last sixteen years living in Austin, Texas. Tracy grew up in a rural farm and ranch community in the Texas Panhandle. She is passionate about photography, graphic design, textiles, knitting, crafting and baking muffins. Her inspiration comes from all around – 19th century typefaces, the crepe myrtles blooming in her back yard, stories her daughters tell, and the sunlight in her dining room. Fair Morning Blue is her new design venture, featuring seasonal cards, hand-stamped textiles, and whatever other whimsies come into her head and heart.

France - Deborah Beau

Twenty-six years ago Deborah Beau decided to leave her native England for France. With a background in drama she thought she was destined to tread the boards in London but a flash of that Gallic smile and she soon found herself following her husband to the sunny South of France. Together with their three children, they live in a small, beautiful village near Montpellier.

After another degree and ten years working as a freelance technical translator, Deborah decided it was time to rediscover her creative self. Passionate about art, photography, design and beautiful things, ever since she can remember, she started writing her blog Kickcan & Conkers in June 2009. She loves sharing her finds through social media and recently opened a small online shop for kids and the young at heart.

Spain - SERENA OLIVIERI

Daughter of an artisan and a business man, she was used to be surrounded by art and handmade products, therefore, almost naturally, she studied art history in her country, Italy.
She moved to Madrid in 2005, where she took a master degree in Exhibition Design and ended up working for artists in several exhibitions and museums around Spain. But there was something she always wanted to do really badly and finally did it in 2010: she and her bf left everything to travel around Asia for one year.
Well, this experience eventually changed her life and she decided it was time to start creating.

Designer and maker of handmade paper goods, she's now producing custom notebooks and diaries that uses as prototypes for new series. She's also focusing on surface design and illustration.
She loves stop-motion video, listening to great travel stories, thai food, analog photography and creative inspiring people.

New Product

ROOM6

Megan finds it very difficult to refer to herself in the third person, therefore, she'll be writing this in the first person.  I started Room6 in 1997 and in 2005 I opened up a little shop in Deep Cove where I find special things for nice people. Today, in no particular order, I plan to learn to use the table saw so I can build new clothing racks, get first tracks at Whistler, bake a chocolate stout cake, cut-up fat quarters, write belated birthday cards, stage an elaborate photo shoot, replace all our ikea "oak" laminate with the real deal (and paint it white), ride my single speed in the city, take a bubble bath, go mid-century furniture shopping, learn french, remove sparkly/chipped nail polish applied by 4-year old niece, paint & organize my office, source new products, mail online orders, change out of my sweatpants, make throw pillows and of course, take Auggie & Mike for a nice, long walk. But, I might not make it to Whistler.

I'm excited to share the special things I find on my actual and virtual adventures with poppytalk readers. Hello!

DEAR EDNA

Erin McIntosh is the one-woman show behind Dear Edna, a small handmade accessories line that she designs, sews, and screen prints from her home in Hamilton, Ontario. Erin is heavily influenced by the past – think florals, houndstooth and plaid; doilies and lace; brooches and pearls; high tea and happy hour. Erin is also constantly inspired by the handmade tradition -- she is currently learning crochet, quilting, and needlework and is eager to find ways to incorporate them into her work. Outside of her sewing room, Erin is a full-time editor, tea fanatic, bookworm and baker.
